Spitfire Homes’ Senior Site Manager recognised with consecutive NHBC Pride in the Job Award
Spitfire Homes is proud to celebrate another outstanding achievement as Senior Site Manager Josh Taylor has been recognised with a prestigious Pride in the Job Quality Award from the National House Building Council (NHBC) for the second consecutive year.
Josh, who leads construction at our landmark 250-home Ellenbrook collection in Moreton-in-Marsh, is one of just 54 site managers across the South West to receive this year’s award. The accolade recognises excellence in build quality, leadership, health and safety, technical expertise and site management.
The achievement follows Josh’s exceptional success in last year’s Pride in the Job awards, when he received the Quality Award before going on to secure the coveted Seal of Excellence, placing him among the UK’s top 150 site managers.
Josh’s journey with Spitfire Homes began in carpentry, working as a subcontractor across a number of our collections. Recognising his talent and commitment, we invited him to become our first Trainee Assistant Site Manager in 2017 – a career move that has seen him progress to leading one of our most significant new communities.
Reflecting on the award, Josh said:
“Winning my first Pride in the Job award last year was an incredible achievement, especially going on to receive the Seal of Excellence. To be recognised again this year is something I’m immensely proud of, and it’s a testament to the commitment and hard work of everyone involved in delivering Ellenbrook.
“Our design team has created something truly exceptional. From the layout and architecture to the landscaping and attention to detail, every element has been carefully considered to create a collection we can all be proud of. Ellenbrook is the most impressive development I’ve worked on, and it’s a privilege to be part of a team that shares such a strong commitment to quality.
“I never imagined a career in site management until the opportunity came along, but I’ve never looked back. Spitfire is a family-owned business, and that culture is reflected in everything we do. There’s a genuine pride in the homes we build, the places we create and the quality we deliver for our homeowners.”
“Every day brings a new challenge, and with up to 60 people working on site, teamwork is essential. Seeing everyone come together to deliver something of this standard is incredibly rewarding, and receiving recognition like this makes it even more special.”
Josh’s career with Spitfire is a clear example of progression through the business, having worked his way up through the ranks to become Senior Site Manager in 2024. Along the way, he has helped to deliver Spitfire Homes’ signature product across highly regarded collections in Broadway, Stratford-upon-Avon and Bristol.
