Spitfire Homes Acquires Land for up to 80 New Homes in Hockley Heath
Spitfire Homes has acquired an 8.3-acre site off Stratford Road in Hockley Heath, near Solihull, with plans to deliver up to 80 design-led new homes.
The acquisition marks a return to Hockley Heath for Spitfire, building on its established track record of delivering quality homes close to our Solihull HQ, including in Knowle, Dorridge and Tanworth-in-Arden.
The proposed collection will feature a varied mix of one- to five-bedroom properties, from contemporary apartments to spacious five-bedroom family homes, each designed to reflect Spitfire’s commitment to considered architecture, quality craftsmanship and high-specification living.
With no new homes currently available in or around Hockley Heath, the scheme will provide an exciting opportunity for local people to secure a premium new home in the village.
Matt Vincent, Operations Director at Spitfire Homes, said:
“Solihull is home to Spitfire, and with Hockley Heath right on our doorstep, we’re delighted to be returning to the village with plans for a new collection of homes.
Hockley Heath is a highly desirable place to live, with its village character and excellent connections to the surrounding area. With limited opportunities to purchase new homes locally, we’re looking forward to bringing forward a thoughtfully designed collection that complements its surroundings and offers something special for prospective homebuyers.”
“It’s also been a pleasure to work alongside Rosconn Group to secure the scheme and we’d like to thank their team for their professionalism and collaborative approach. We look forward to sharing more about our plans as they progress.”
A third of the site is planned to be dedicated to public open space, including a space for children to play and landscaped green space throughout. Plans also include pedestrian and cycle links connecting to the wider footpath network, and the popular 100-mile Millennium Way walking route.
Drawing inspiration from Spitfire’s Harrington collection in nearby Tanworth-in-Arden, the homes will be designed to complement the semi-rural setting of Hockley Heath. A varied architectural palette, incorporating traditional red brickwork, ivory render, timber canopies and green and cream window finishes will create a distinctive yet cohesive collection that reflects the character of the surrounding area.
The site was acquired through local, family-owned land agent Rosconn Group. Daniel O’Donnell, Managing Director at Rosconn Group, said: “Having previously worked with Spitfire on the acquisition of its Wolston site, it’s been great to build on that relationship with another successful deal, this time even closer to home. We’re proud advocates for Spitfire Homes and the residences it delivers, and it has a proven track record of creating beautiful homes in the region. Hockley Heath is a special village, we’re proud to have played our part in bringing forward its latest new homes and look forward to seeing the community take shape.”
Further details of the proposed Hockley Heath collection will be announced as plans progress.
