Spitfire Homes celebrates 15th anniversary with 1,500th home completed and 1,600-home pipeline

Award-winning Midlands homebuilder Spitfire Homes is marking its 15th anniversary from a position of strength, having delivered a record number of homes in 2025. With a pipeline of 1,600 new homes, the business is continuing to build on its strong reputation for creating distinctive, quality-driven properties.

Founded in 2011, the family-owned homebuilder completed its 1,500th home earlier this year, a milestone that reflects both the scale of its ambition and the consistency of its product, with 303 homes delivered in 2025 alone.

This signified substantial year-on-year growth of 70%, demonstrating that despite ongoing economic uncertainty and ever-changing challenges across the wider housebuilding sector, Spitfire continues to illustrate how its clearly defined premium offering can deliver sustained success.

Since its inception, Spitfire has created 62 brand-new communities, each defined by thoughtful placemaking, distinctive architecture and investment in the local area. In doing so, the business has delivered key infrastructure, a range of community amenities and supported an estimated 5,000 jobs.[1]

To mark the 15-year milestone, the homebuilder is set to launch a £15,000 community fund later this summer, helping to support local causes and community projects in recognition of the communities it helps to shape.

Over the past 15 years, Spitfire’s portfolio has stretched as far south as Bristol and Surrey, and as far north as Nottinghamshire, taking in some of England’s most sought-after addresses along the way.

Dave Smith, Managing Director, says the 15th anniversary gives an opportunity for reflection on how far Spitfire has come and the principles that have underpinned its growth, adding:

“The housebuilding industry looks very different today than it did back in 2011, and has never been without its challenges. What distinguishes Spitfire is the consistency it has maintained throughout – in the safety of our people, uncompromising design standards, a considered approach to placemaking and its core commitment to quality for the customer. This is the foundation that supports our continued success. With a 1,600-home pipeline and ongoing investment in the next generation of talent, we’re primed to build on our success. It is an incredibly exciting time to be a part of Spitfire Homes.”

As it looks ahead to shaping its further growth, Spitfire is investing in its future workforce while tackling the industry’s skills crisis head-on. The homebuilder recently committed to a minimum requirement of 5% of its total workforce to be made up of trainees or graduates, which has been extended as a mandatory requirement for contractor partners, reinforcing the application of Spitfire’s values to its supply chain.

Spitfire’s success shows no sign of slowing down. Its design-led approach continues to set it apart from volume housebuilders, the Bespoke Collection portfolio is expanding through prestigious land acquisitions, and the brand identity refined over 15 years of considered homebuilding becomes stronger with each collection.

Spitfire’s evolution has led to recognition through multiple industry awards: in 2025 it was crowned Best Small Housebuilder in the Housebuilder Awards, along with Silver and Bronze wins in the prestigious WhatHouse? Awards, while retaining its 5-star rating from the Home Builder’s Federation (HBF)’s Annual Customer Satisfaction Survey.
