New community scheme in Radcliffe on Trent aims to boost local business

We are proud to have introduced the Gold Card scheme at Sherbourne, Radcliffe on Trent, our debut collection of new homes in Nottingham. The initiative has been created to encourage residents moving into the village to shop local and support the high street from day one.

Already proving successful in other locations, including Daventry and Moreton in Marsh, the scheme gives our homeowners access to a range of exclusive offers from local retailers, hospitality venues, and leisure providers – all at no cost to the businesses involved. Each business has the flexibility to shape their own offer in a way that works best for them.

We are delighted to already be working with Radcliffe Golf Club, Lisa’s Barber Shop, The Flower Shop, One More Chapter Bookshop, Ava Joyce Ladies Boutique, and Fruitlicious Fruit and Veg Shop. With the first properties at Sherbourne now occupied, we see this as an important step in creating a sense of belonging for our residents while helping to bring more visibility and footfall to local traders.

As part of the creation of Sherbourne, we’re also proud to be delivering over £2 million in community contributions – including nearly £450,000 towards highways and public transport improvements, and £870,000 to support the expansion of education, creating more school places for local children.

Mark Swaddle, Head of Marketing at Spitfire Homes, said:

Radcliffe on Trent already has a strong sense of community and we’re proud to contribute to that spirit through the Gold Card scheme.

It’s about more than offering discounts, it’s about helping new residents settle in and find their favourite local spots, whilst supporting the local economy at the same time.”

One of the scheme’s early supporters is One More Chapter, a recently opened independent bookshop on Radcliffe High Street.

Charlotte King, Owner and Founder, added:

Opening our doors in the heart of Radcliffe has been an exciting journey, and we’re proud to partner with Spitfire Homes to support the growing community. As new families and homeowners move in, we look forward to welcoming them and sharing our passion for books.

This collaboration is a lovely way to help strengthen local connections, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on our business.”

The Spitfire Gold Card scheme is open to any business in the area that would like to take part, and we’re continuing to grow our network of partners. For further information, please email goldcard@spitfirehomes.co.uk.
