Josh Taylor Wins Second NHBC Seal of Excellence Award
We’re celebrating another prestigious industry accolade after Josh Taylor, who has overseen the delivery of our Ellenbrook collection in Moreton-in-Marsh, secured an NHBC Pride in the Job Seal of Excellence for the second consecutive year.
The award recognises Josh’s exceptional commitment to build quality, site management and leadership at Ellenbrook, our landmark collection of 250 new homes in the Cotswolds.
Selected from 54 NHBC Quality Award winners across the South West, Josh has once again been recognised among the industry’s leading site managers, reflecting the consistently high standards delivered by our team at Ellenbrook.
Organised by the National House Building Council (NHBC), the annual Pride in the Job Awards celebrate the very best in UK housebuilding, recognising site managers who demonstrate outstanding standards of workmanship, leadership, health and safety, and attention to detail.
Josh’s latest achievement follows his success in 2025, when he received both a Quality Award and the coveted Seal of Excellence, placing him among the UK’s top 150 site managers.
Securing the Seal of Excellence for a second consecutive year is a proud achievement for our team and reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering thoughtfully designed homes with exceptional standards of quality and craftsmanship.
Josh began his career in housebuilding as a carpenter, working as a subcontractor across several of our collections.
Having impressed our team with his skills and dedication, Josh joined us in 2017 as our first-ever Trainee Assistant Site Manager, progressing through the business to become an award-winning site manager.
Reflecting on his latest achievement, Josh said:
“Last year, to win my first award was a massive achievement, especially to then go on and win the Seal of Excellence. But to do so consecutively proves how hard everybody on site works in striving for quality.
“Our design team has done a terrific job in perfecting this site. Everything about it is exceptional. The layout, style, landscaping and attention to detail allow us to deliver the very best for our homeowners. Ellenbrook is the most impressive scheme I’ve ever worked on, and I am proud to work with such a dedicated team of people who make that vision a reality.”
He added:
“I’d never thought about site management before I was approached, but now, you can ask anybody; I’m Spitfire through and through. It’s a family-owned business and that feeling really bleeds through. As a brand, what we build, where we build and the quality we hand over speak for themselves.
“Since then, I’ve never looked back. This is a job like no other, and we often have 50 to 60 people on site who would go to the ends of the earth for each other. I truly get a sense of pride from pulling everybody and everything together, so the plan falls into place.”
